Andre Gomes was one of Marco Silva’s exciting signings during the summer transfer window.
The Everton manager recruited a handful of players, but Gomes had to wait for his debut due to injury.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Toffees on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, made his first appearance for the club in Sunday’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
Gomes was named in the first XI and played 82 minutes before being substituted by Silva.
The midfielder looked rusty at times, but for the most part he impressed alongside Idrissa Gueye.
It took 87 minutes for the game to jump into life as substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun scored to give Everton a late victory on home soil.

After the match, plenty of Everton fans hailed Gomes’s performance, but some are worried that if he plays too well over the course of the season it will lesser the club’s chance of signing him permanently.
