Aston Villa are in talks to sign experienced defender Robert Huth according to The Leicester Mercury.

What’s the story?

The 33-year-old has played for a number of Premier League clubs and was famously one half of Leicester’s title winning defence back in 2016.

According to the report, Aston Villa are in talks with the German international who’s available on a free after his contract expired, although the Villans are concerned about his high wages with their current financial troubles.

Huth has suffered a lot with injuries and at 33 he’s entering the twilight of his career, but when fit he is still one of the toughest defenders around.
